Grandparents Visit!

After serving a year long mission in Oklahoma, David's parents decided to take the long way home to Salt Lake, visiting some of the southern states before moseying up our way for a visit. It was so wonderful having them here even though we didn't get to do too many exciting things with the kids in school all day. However, just having them here to talk to and hang out with was great!
The kids always love visits with family, especially grandparents. Dave and Jackie treated the kids to a trip to Toys R Us where each of them got to pick out a new toy. The boys both chose Lego sets and Grandpa was extremely patient as he helped them assemble all the minuscule pieces.

We even got to celebrate Dave's birthday while he was here.

Hopefully we'll get to visit again with them real soon! It's so hard living far away from the ones we love.

Keepin' Busy

As we enter the fall season Savannah is keeping herself very busy. School assignments, piano lessons start next week, soccer practices and games, playing with friends, taking care of 6 kittens, preparing to learn the violin, Activity Days at church, and Keepers! What a fun schedule!
After the summer break the girls were all ready to kick off our new Keepers year. The meeting was held at our house where we introduced the new theme for the year - Others - and did some activities to go along with that. The girls especially enjoyed preparing a care package for a missionary from our ward serving in California. They wrote messages on balloons that he can then blow up to read.

Savannah's most recent Activity Days night featured Olympic events where the girls tried walking on cans, racing while carrying a ball on a tray, shooting cans, and throwing pool sticks. It was definitely a fun night hanging out with friends.

Each of the girls received a medal reminding them to be pure and virtuous.

Preschool!

Noah has waited so patiently these past two weeks and now it is finally his turn - preschool has finally started!

Noah goes every afternoon and is so excited that almost his entire preschool class from last year is with him again this year.
One of Noah's admirers!

The first day he got to spend some time checking out his new classroom and doing some fun activities.

Finally...First Day of School!

Irene caused so much havoc out here that the first day of school was cancelled...and then the second day was as well. The kids were devastated! Thank goodness by Wednesday the schools were open!
Savannah is starting 4th and Xander is heading into 1st.

The walk to the bus stop. Notice Noah also brought along his backpack and lunch box in the hopes, I think, that no one would notice if he hitched a ride on the bus as well.

I can't believe another school year has begun.

Boo! One more year at home for me!
