It's about time! Poor Noah has been sleeping in a crib all this time...the poor kid is 2 1/2! My rule is to keep them in the crib as long as we can but he's been ready for a big boy bed for quite some time. Some things just take awhile for David and I to get to. About 3 weeks ago we finally buckled down and bought them...and the boys love them!
At first Noah wasn't too thrilled about having the bottom bunk but once I told him it was his special Batman cave, he was on board. He's only fallen out once and went right back to sleep on the floor. And there has only been one night, around 2 am, that I woke up to Noah crying, went running into their room, and found him on the top bunk with Xander. He told me that there were monsters on his bed. Poor little guy. Other than that, though, it's been great.
Xander absolutely LOVES being on the top bunk! He has spent hours playing up there, pretending it's his pirate ship, hauling up all kinds of toys to play with, and NEVER making his bed anymore. He feels, and rightly so, that he can get away with it because Mommy usually can't see whether it's made or not without climbing up the ladder. Sneaky little guy.

Under the Weather...But Still Having Fun!
Wednesday of last week I started feeling crummy and by Friday I could not get out of bed. Unfortunately for me there were two very important events going on on Friday that I had to attend. The first was the ABBY ceremony at Savannah's school honoring those students selected by their teachers in the month of October for outstanding behavior...and our Savannah was being honored. I couldn't miss that!
Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Bowers.
I truly debated about the second one...I seriously was struggling after Savannah's award ceremony and just wanted to climb back into bed. David suggested taking Savannah but I LOVE watching my Jazz boys play and David and I had tickets to see them play the 76ers up in Phili. Good thing I dragged my ill body to that game because CHECK OUT OUR SEATS!!!!
Yes! We were right behind the bench...no one in front of us...just our Jazz players. Ever since I converted to being a Jazz fan I have dreamed of sitting close to the team so that I could hear what they say to each other and watch Jerry Sloan get "passionate" about the bad calls. It was awesome!
Here's my Jerry after giving it to one of the refs.
It was a great game! Every time the team came over for a time out, me, David, and the Jazz fan next to us all stood up, like we were part of the team. We got to hear all the funny things they were saying to each other throughout the game. The best part, of course, was that they won.
Towards the end of the game, one of the Jazz coaches handed one of the ushers special passes for us and a few other Jazz fans to stay after the game and meet some of the players. Bonus! We got to talk to a few of the players and even got to see that the two rookies of the team, Maynor and Matthews, have to carry around pink princess bags as part of their luggage...poor rookies!
Me and Andrei Kirilenko
Me and Wes Matthews. (Too bad he didn't hold up his princess bag.)
The game took it all out of me...I spent the rest of the weekend in my bed but these two special and fun events were not to be missed!

Tournament Day!
What a fabulous soccer season this has been for Savannah! She learned so much from the soccer camp she attended this past summer and her skills continued to improve throughout the season. This year was also fun because I was one of the assistant coaches for her team. I loved every second I got to spend with Savannah and the girls on her team. Soccer was such a big part of my life for many years and I only stopped playing when I got pregnant with Savannah. I have missed it so much over the years but being an assistant gave me an opportunity to get back out there and help these girls learn the game. Savannah's team won some and lost some and the end of the season was capped by a single-game elimination tournament. Our team won the first game, 4-0, but then we lost the second game, 1-0. What a heartbreaker! Next up - indoor soccer!
Some of the team hanging out between games.
What a great corner kick!

Candlemaking
One of the things that I love about Savannah participating in her Keepers group is that she gets to do things we probably wouldn't do otherwise. Friday night was no exception...the girls made candles. They made three different kinds and had a great time.

Soccer!
This year was Xander's first year of playing soccer. His team name was the Sharks and he had a wonderful season. Unfortunately I had to miss most of his games due to scheduling conflicts with Savannah's games; the worst was missing his very first goal. But the games I did attend were fun to watch despite the fact that at this age the kids all travel in packs. The main thing was that Xander learned a few new skills and had a great time playing!
Xander's biggest fans!!!

Halloween!
Although a bit wet this year, Halloween was a wonderful night! As you can see from the pictures, all the kids dressed up as good classic monsters this year: Savannah was a witch (a good one), Xander was a werewolf, and Noah was Frankenstein.
