Tuesday I got to spend some time with Xander at his preschool for a Mommy Craft and Pool Day. First stop was his classroom where each of the kids made a Mother's Day Craft and snacked on cookies and other yummy treats. Next we all headed to the pool. Xander spent some time with his classmates swimming in the small pool and then they all ran around the splash pad for awhile. Towards the end Xander and I went swimming together in the big pool. I love being able to spend one-on-one time with each of my kids; Xander and I really had a great time together.

Cinco de Mayo
Monday night we celebrated Cinco de Mayo with some yummy Mexican food for dinner. Of course we had to dress up the kids in mustaches and sombreros. It was a fun evening! Viva! el Cinco de Mayo!
Even David seemed to enjoy himself!
My little Porfirio Diaz.

The National Zoo
We wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather on Saturday so we headed down to DC to The National Zoo. We got there later than I had hoped so it was a bit crowded but we still had fun. One of my favorite parts of this zoo is that they have two enclosures for the orangutans quite a distance apart from each other and the orangutans can go from one enclosure to the other by walking along ropes high above the people walking around the zoo. We were walking to one of the exhibits and I just happened to look up and whoa...there's an orangutan above us. It was pretty neat!
Another favorite at this zoo are the pandas. One of the pandas was very active for us. He climbed up a tree, went upside down and started shaking a branch, broke it, and then climbed back down. Loved it! The only bummer part of the day for me was that we didn't really get to see the gorillas which are my favorite. They were all hiding. Oh, well...maybe next time.

Keeping Cool
The weather has been just gorgeous here for the last week or so. Friday afternoon it was still pretty hot so we brought out the water sprinkler for the kids.
I think Noah enjoyed it the most. He crawled right out to it and didn't seem to mind getting sprayed in the face.

The Enchanted Forest
Friday morning the boys and I headed off to The Enchanted Forest with some friends. The Enchanted Forest is a petting zoo but also has a bunch of buildings and statues depicting scenes and characters from nursery rhymes. We had such a great time there.
My friend Jeanne, Xander, and Brandon outside the home of the three bears.
Xander sitting next to none other than the famous Humpty Dumpty. Thank goodness neither fell off the wall today.
Here I am rolling down the hill with Jack and Jill though I couldn't get the kids to join me.
A no-brainer here...the old woman who lived in the shoe. There was a slide that came out of her shoe so we ended up spending a lot of time here. The boys couldn't get enough of sliding!
My cute Noah!
My cute Noah trying to climb under the fence to where the horse was. Where is this kid's mother?
This pony loved Xander.
On a hay ride! What a fun time we had with our friends.

Dinosaurs
Last night in Baltimore dinosaurs once again walked the earth and David, Savannah, Xander, and I were lucky enough to see it! Xander came armed, as usual. (This dagger actually caused a tense moment when we went through security but we can laugh about it now.)
Some of the dinosaurs we saw were (thank goodness for spell check here): a Brachiosaurus...
raptors...
triceratops...
ankylosaurus...
and of course, the big mama of them all, the T. Rex! Everyone cheered when this gigantic carnivore came on...and she did not disappoint. She was enormous and LOUD!!!!
And last but not least...we can not forget our own little Xandersaurus, whose inner dinosaur came out during the intermission...can we say melt down?
It was a fabulous show and the kids had a ball. The dinosaurs looked absolutely amazing and with all the lights and sounds, we felt like we had landed right in the middle of the Jurassic Period.

Ice Cream!
Last night the Baskin Robbins near our home had 31 cent cones so of course we headed there right after dinner. The line was out the door, as we expected...who can pass up that price? But the line moved quickly and we found a grassy spot outside to sit down and enjoy our yummy ice cream!.
