Game Night

One thing David and I have noticed since we moved out here is that couples, especially those in our church, do not get together with other couples without kids in tow. They'll go out with their kids or have get-togethers at their houses and the kids will be told to hang out in the basement or out in the backyard. Yea...we all know how well that works! David and I love our kids but we truly believe that there comes a time when adults go out or get together and kids are NOT allowed. I was talking recently to another couple at our church and we decided that we were going to plan some monthly activities and insist that the couples attending leave the kids at home. No more kids in the basement, no more kids tagging along...ENOUGH!!!!! There is such a thing known as a babysitter and it's time for some people to utilize them. With the plan in place, Game Night was at our house this past Saturday night. We invited a few couples, telling them "No kids allowed!" One couple seemed a little surprised but the rest, like David and I, seemed eager to leave tiny tots at home for a change. We sent our kids over to another couples' house and got a babysitter to stay there with all the kids. We had such a great time playing games, eating desserts and socializing without kids making their way up out of the basement to bug us.

How much fun! I too love getting away with my handsome hubby without kids! I wish we lived closer so that we could come over too!
