As a finishing touch on their poetry unit, the kids in Savannah's 3rd grade class invited the parents to their Poetry Cafe. While we sipped on cocoa, each student recited a favorite poem he or she had written during the unit.
Savannah's poem was a list poem:
Tomatoes
Everyone says you should eat them.
Everyone says they taste like candy.
Everyone says the "T" word is not a good name for them.
Everyone says I should try them...
